The recruitment of personnel is a two way process and therefore it is very important that all candidates are given sufficient information to enable them to clearly identify that a role meets their career aspirations. A candidate briefing document will be prepared and issued at interview, containing company and role profile, remuneration guide and timetable.
Although we can establish a certain amount through a CV (i.e. track record and experience), much of the candidate’s success will be dependent on their interpersonal qualities or past behaviour, which can only be assessed in person. Competency based interviews are structured interviews which explore what a candidate has done in the past in relation to key competency areas, critical for success in the role (e.g. leadership or influencing skills).
